![]() There were some really sweet and touching moments between Miles and Toby that not only had me grinning but had my heart melting! This was such a short read and I wouldn’t be mad at all if we got more stories of the both of them as they embark on this new adventure and life together. My heart hurt for both of them but especially Miles who sorely regretted the actions of his youth and only wanted his father’s acceptance and forgiveness. They definitely don’t hit it off on the same foot the second time around, after Toby made an ass of Miles, but I loved watching them develop a tentative friendship before giving in to their attraction and sizzling chemistry! They both had tenuous relationships with their families, particularly their fathers, and their histories helped them form a bond that made each other feel seen. As it usually is, all the tension and danger is ramped up in the second. ![]() Everything that I adored about the first book in this series, Slippery Creatures, is alive and present here in The Sugared Game. ![]() And if Will and Kim can’t find common ground against unseen enemies, they risk losing everything. It was plenty sexy and it was clear they had an instant connection. This time, the danger is too close to home. I loved Miles and Toby’s not-so-meet-cute. ![]() This was a fast and entertaining read with awesome performances by both narrators. I don’t listen to a lot of audiobooks but I’ve been waiting to get my hands on this ever since the author mentioned it. ![]()
