![]() There were some really sweet and touching moments between Miles and Toby that not only had me grinning but had my heart melting! This was such a short read and I wouldn’t be mad at all if we got more stories of the both of them as they embark on this new adventure and life together. My heart hurt for both of them but especially Miles who sorely regretted the actions of his youth and only wanted his father’s acceptance and forgiveness. They definitely don’t hit it off on the same foot the second time around, after Toby made an ass of Miles, but I loved watching them develop a tentative friendship before giving in to their attraction and sizzling chemistry! They both had tenuous relationships with their families, particularly their fathers, and their histories helped them form a bond that made each other feel seen. As it usually is, all the tension and danger is ramped up in the second. ![]() Everything that I adored about the first book in this series, Slippery Creatures, is alive and present here in The Sugared Game. ![]() And if Will and Kim can’t find common ground against unseen enemies, they risk losing everything. It was plenty sexy and it was clear they had an instant connection. This time, the danger is too close to home. I loved Miles and Toby’s not-so-meet-cute. ![]() This was a fast and entertaining read with awesome performances by both narrators. I don’t listen to a lot of audiobooks but I’ve been waiting to get my hands on this ever since the author mentioned it. ![]()

![]() I also loved the change in Luke and how he cherishes Becky. I liked seeing how she resolves things, especially because it involved some character growth. ![]() Becky was at a real low point for part of the book, lower than she usually gets when she "overextends" herself. But, I didn't know there would be so much relationship drama in this book. ![]() I started Shopaholic and Baby knowing for the most part how things would turn out for Becky and Luke, having read Mini Shopaholic (book six) already. I never read series out of order but made an exception this time. In the meantime, I skipped ahead and read the rest of the Shopaholic series, knowing I would come back and read book five when the eBook became available. So, I had to go back on the waiting list (at the bottom this time) and wait my turn again. I was on my library's eBook waiting list, and missed the email telling me it was my turn to read the book. I've been waiting to read Shopaholic and Baby for a while now. ![]() ![]() Kimberly Elam takes the reader on a geometrical journey, lending insight and coherence to the design process by exploring the visual relationships that have foundations in mathematics as well as the essential qualities of life. Now that Longitude is available as an e-book, I enjoy continuing and widening the conversation via e-mail. Almost all of that early correspondence went back and forth by ordinary mail, and I wrote my part with a fountain pen. Many more people wrote to say they’d enjoyed reading the book, and quite a few asked questions the story had raised in their minds. (For example, the typesetter had inexplicably swapped the word latitude for longitude-and vice versa-on several pages.) Numerous attentive readers took the trouble to write to me to point out typos or other errors in the text, which the publisher then corrected in subsequent editions. ![]() The publication of Longitude taught me that a book can actually improve by virtue of being read. ![]() ![]() ![]() Milne's first book of children’s poetry “When We Were Very Young,” followed by the publication of a full volume of stories that were eventually adapted into a cartoon by Walt Disney.
